creswick trails project
April 5th, 2017 was a significant day for the Creswick Trails project when the Victorian Government announced a $2.54m funding grant for a 100km+ trail project in and around the township of Creswick.
This was a culmination of nearly a decade of hard work by various local residents, cycling enthusiasts and business owners who recognised the unique potential our little town has.
Hepburn Shire have allocated close to an additional $1.5m making the trail project a $4m investment in local tourism.

On September 15th, 2020 the Hepburn Shire Council unanimously adopted the Hammon Park Trailhead Masterplan. Anticipated to cost around $2m to complete, this partially funded project will cater for everyone from the very beginner to the elite professional.
With permanent and free access to MTB, CX & Trials  features, the trailhead has something for everyone. Some concept pictures are included below but we
highly recommend reading the document in full.

There are some exciting times ahead for our town. Around $6m either has, or will be invested in creating a significant tourism drawcard and the flow-on benefits to the local community will be significant. We are assured that the project is progressing, albeit slowly. Continued interest in the project, petitioning of the local council, as well as letting the land managers know how much of benefit this entire project will have on the region will assist in moving it along.  For the most up to date information regarding the project, head to the official project page via the button below.
